Free Parenting Support Services in South Australia

South Australia has a dedicated network of free support for parents and families, from the Parent Helpline to local child health programs. Here's what's available to you.

Whether you're a new parent finding your feet, or you've been at it for years and just need some extra support, South Australia has a number of free services ready to help.


Parent Helpline South Australia

The Parent Helpline SA is a free, confidential telephone service available to all parents and carers in South Australia. You can call about anything — parenting challenges, child behaviour, your own wellbeing, or just needing someone to talk to.

- Hours: 7 days, 7:15am–9:15pm


Parenting SA

Parenting SA is a South Australian Government program providing quality information on raising children, including free Parent Easy Guides — practical, easy-to-read resources covering everything from newborns to teenagers.

Child and Family Health Service (CaFHS)

CaFHS is South Australia's child and family health service, providing free support to families from pregnancy through to school age. Services include home visits for new parents, child health checks, and parenting group programs.

- Hours: Monday to Friday 9am-4pm

Triple P — Positive Parenting Program

Triple P is available free online for all South Australian families with children under 12. A wide range of modules cover everything from managing challenging behaviour to supporting your child's emotional development.

Playgroups SA

Community playgroups are a great way to connect with other parents and support your child's social development. Playgroups SA can help you find a group near you or even start one in your community.

Family Relationship Advice Line

If you're navigating separation, co-parenting, or family relationship difficulties, the national Family Relationship Advice Line provides free information, support, and referrals.

- Hours: Monday–Friday 8am–8pm, Saturday 10am–4pm
